Digital Hair Perm at Salon De Choix!

I am blessed to have natural wavy hair. So much so that if I don't blow-dry my hair after my hair wash or straighten my hair on purpose, it will simply be wavy. Sometimes, too wavy till to the extent that I felt I look like a Siao Charbor (Crazy Woman). The below photos were taken on 'Good Hair' days, and not my 'Siao Charbo Looking' days...

Yes, I received praises and compliments from some, whom liked the fact that I need not use the hair curler to get natural-looking curls. But then again, I love those bouncy curls and so much so that I always wanted to perm my hair. To add on, I did thought of doing a hair rebonding to end my wavy hair woes, but I thought perhaps a hair perm will have my curls to be more defined and of course, more curled (at least it's not that it's neither here nor there!).

I have contemplating on having a hair perm for about a year.

For I am skeptical if I would like it and maintain it well.

But I decided to give it a go in the month of November.

So hair perm it was for me, by my hair sponsor, Salon De Choix!

Upon arriving at Salon De Choix, I was received by my hair stylist, Elein. We had a short consultation as to what I would like her to achieve for my hair. I shared with her my concerns and she told me that it would be easy to maintain those curls, with just a lil effort and time, the right tools and products to use. I knew I was in good hands, so I let her to work her magic on my tresses.

For my hair is quite thick, a hair trim was necessary to 'lighten' it. With that being done, my curls will at least be bouncier, and not be weighed down by my thick hair.And yes, that's Elein, in the photo above. Heh! So I proceeded to have my hair washed. And that, perhaps is what I always look forward to whenever I am at Salon De Choix. Afterall, how often can you get your hair washed and getting a massage while lying down on a reclining chair? ;)

After the hair wash, my hair was towel-dried and this cream was applied onto my hair.

My hair was then wrapped on these rollers.

Then the rollers were hooked to some wires...
(Cyborg in the making, yes?)

And when it's time for a hair wash, my hair was shampooed using the Loreal Keratase Bain Oleo-Curl Shampoo. (as seen in picture below). One thing good about digital hair perm is that as the heat temperature can be adjusted, it leads to less damage to the hair. However with that being said, it is always good to do hair treatment to protect and revitalize those tresses, after one does any color, straightening or perm job.

After an analysis of what my hair requires, Elein then prepared the hair treatment products to use on my tresses. The contents from the orange cap (Booster Ionium) was poured into the purple bottle (Concentre Substantif). Elein then sprayed onto my towel-dried, slightly-damp hair, and gently rubbed into the lower portion of my tresses.

The highly-concentrated doses of active ingredients that were mixed together made it easier and more convenient to target my two hair concerns at once. As I just done a hair perm, my hair may be quite weak, so the Concentre Substantif helps to intense the densifying effect for fine hair. The Booster Ionium, in turn  provides in-depth nutrition and anti-dryness protection for smoothness and shine.

Next, my hair was pampered with a hair masque, which helps to hydrate my hair intensely,featuring a thermo-reactive formula. It is said that this hair is very suitable for very dry or sensitised hair. One interesting thing about this masque is that it will be put in the bowl. Next, the bowl will be hooked to some wires, and then it was switched on, heating up the masque (that explains the thermo-reactive formula right?).

After 4 hours, this is the end result!

The Japanese/Korean kind of big curls. Love it!
